But what exactly is an apprenticeship? An apprenticeship is on-the-job training and often some accompanying study (classroom work and reading). Apprenticeships enable individuals to earn while they learn, gaining practical skills and experience in their chosen field. They are a valuable pathway for people, offering a blend of active learning and academic learning.
Spotlight on Success: Internal Case Studies
Our celebration also shone a spotlight on two inspiring internal case studies. These individuals have excelled in their apprenticeships and Jennifer had an interview with Construction Inclusion Coalition.
Our first case study showcases Jennifer, a branch manager within our business who has had a number of roles within the business and with her most recent role being a promotion to branch manager.
Starting in 2014 in the business, Wayne's career has flourished throughout the years and his most recent role is a Regional Showroom Sales Manager. His role involves pushing an important part of our business with a people focus and has completed Level 3 in Management and Level 5 Leading a Business apprenticeships.
In Wayne's words: "I would strongly encourage anyone considering an apprenticeship in merchanting to take the leap; it's a fantastic pathway to a successful and fulfilling career."
As Apprenticeship Week 2025 comes to a close, we are reminded of the vital role apprenticeships play in shaping the future workforce. By continuing to support and promote these opportunities, we can ensure that individuals from all backgrounds have the chance to thrive in their chosen careers.
